Dr Ellena O'Connell

Ellena came to work at the Northern Veterinary Group immediately after graduating from the University of Queensland in 2016.

She always wanted a job that would constantly challenge her and involve lifelong development. After growing up with lots of pet dogs and animals being a big part of her life, becoming a vet seemed like the perfect career fit.

She thoroughly enjoys canine medicine and surgery and the diagnostic processes involved in achieving an answer to the sometimes difficult question 'what's wrong?'

She has a strong interest in further developing her skills in ultrasound and surgery.

Ellena has a Border Collie named Leeroy and is on the look out for a Great Dane or Golden Retriever pup.

Elle's tip for pet owners:

"There's no such thing as a free pet. Even basic preventative treatments cost money so do your sums to ensure you know what to expect"
